Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: Southaven, MS 38672

Duration: 03 Month Contract

Pay Rate: $16 Per Hour

1st shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday


Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize inventory. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo lifts to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.
  • Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using barcode scanning systems and ensuring proper storage of materials.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within the warehouse management system.
  • Follow warehouse safety protocols including OSHA standards and forklift safety procedures to prevent accidents.
  • Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for shipment or storage while adhering to heavy lifting and manual handling guidelines.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklift trucks (including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo) and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, shipping & receiving procedures.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards in production environments such as OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes.
  • Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
