Carroll Water
Location: Cockeysville, MD
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM-3:30 PM | 40+ hours per week
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Position

Carroll Water is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator to help oversee our daily warehouse operations, inventory, purchasing, receiving, and distribution of materials.

This position plays an important role in supporting our Service, Installation, Well Drilling, and Pump teams by ensuring technicians and crews have the parts, equipment, and supplies they need to complete their work safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in keeping a warehouse organized, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, pays close attention to detail, and can effectively coordinate with vendors, suppliers, technicians, and management.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Warehouse Operations
  • Manage and maintain warehouse, yard, and storage-area inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure critical materials remain adequately stocked.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store incoming shipments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control systems.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
  • Ensure the warehouse, yard, and storage areas remain clean, organized, safe, and professional.
  • Stage materials and equipment for upcoming jobs and projects.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
  • Order materials, equipment, parts, and supplies from approved vendors.
  • Monitor inventory needs and proactively place orders to prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate deliveries and shipment schedules with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Track vendor orders, lead times, and expected delivery dates.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding orders, shortages, backorders, and delivery issues.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist management with identifying purchasing efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
Operations & Department Support
  • Work closely with Service, Installation, Well Drilling, and Pump departments to understand upcoming material needs.
  • Ensure technicians and production teams have the necessary materials and equipment for scheduled work.
  • Help coordinate the timely distribution of parts and materials throughout the organization.
  • Review upcoming work and proactively identify potential material shortages.
  • Help reduce unnecessary trips to supply houses by ensuring trucks, crews, and jobs are properly prepared.
  • Communicate inventory concerns and operational needs to management.
  • Assist with special projects and other operational duties as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse and yard.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly store materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Participate in company safety meetings and training.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns to management.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
  • 5+ years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, purchasing, or operations experience.
  • Previous experience with inventory control or warehouse management systems.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, water treatment, well drilling, pump systems, construction materials, or related industries.
  • Experience working in a service, construction, or field-service environment.
Physical Requirements

This position is an active warehouse and yard position and requires regular physical activity.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance when appropriate.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to safely climb steps, access storage areas, and maneuver throughout warehouse and yard spaces.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely handle, move, and organize warehouse materials and equipment.

Work Environment
