Inventory & Warehouse Coordinator
Morris, IL | $30.00 - $40.00/HR Temporary Assignment (Approximately 6-8 Weeks) | 1st Shift
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a confidential client in Morris, IL seeking an experienced Inventory & Warehouse Coordinator to provide coverage during a temporary staffing gap. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, independent professional with inventory management experience who can step in and make an immediate impact.
This position works within a power generation/industrial facility and requires someone who is comfortable operating with minimal supervision while maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating purchases, and supporting warehouse operations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Issue and track purchase orders for parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the inventory management system.
  • Receive, count, verify, and properly store incoming materials.
  • Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Organize warehouse stock and ensure materials are stored in correct locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Utilize inventory management software and Excel to track inventory activity.
  • Sort, filter, and analyze inventory data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Coordinate materials and inventory needs with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Support warehouse and field operations as needed.
  • Operate forklifts when necessary, including narrow aisle and outdoor forklift equipment.
Qualifications
  • Previous inventory control, warehouse coordination, materials management, or storeroom experience required.
  • Experience working within an inventory management system required.
  • Experience with Maximo strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and data management.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in industrial, power generation, manufacturing, maintenance, or skilled trades environments preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk throughout the warehouse and facility.
  • Ability to lift, move, and organize materials as needed.
  • Comfortable working in both warehouse and outdoor environments.
  • Forklift operation is required less than 25% of the time.
