The Role: Inventory Control Specialist

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will help maintain accurate inventory records and ensure material availability across Switch operations. This role supports inventory planning, cycle counting, transaction accuracy, and inventory analysis. You will work closely with warehouse, procurement, and operational teams to identify discrepancies, improve processes, and support efficient inventory management.

What Youll Do
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and inventory transactions.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and balance variances.
  • Coordinate daily cycle counts and support physical inventory activities.
  • Analyze count variances and identify root causes.
  • Monitor inventory levels, aging inventory, and potential obsolescence risks.
  • Establish and maintain safety stock levels using historical demand data.
  • Create and maintain inventory items, bills of material, and related records in JD Edwards.
  • Generate inventory reports and ad hoc analyses to support business decisions.
  • Create and maintain purchase requisitions and work orders.
  • Process inventory issues, returns, and work order transactions.
  • Add new inventory items and maintain inventory labeling and location records.
  • Pull, issue, receive, stock, and organize inventory materials.
  • Support IT asset management activities, both physical and system-based.
  • Assist with e-waste tracking and reporting.
  • Support PowerApps administration and inventory-related projects.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Follow warehouse safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment.

  • Experience maintaining inventory records and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Experience performing inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and work in a warehouse environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material.
  • APICS certification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
