Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are seeking a Assistant Warehouse Manager to support rail car and truck shipping through the preparation of case goods, drums, and bins with the use of inventory control systems, associated documentation, personnel and time management. Develops and maintains processes and procedures to ensure accurate and productive work activities for all warehousing functions. Ensures orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and within budget at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ·Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing and coordinating day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, putaway, picking, staging, shipping, dock flow, yard coordination, and internal material movement.
  • Assist in ensuring daily warehouse activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established operational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Support inventory management processes to maintain a high level of accuracy through proper transaction control, FIFO practices, cycle counts, reconciliation, and system integrity.
  • Assist in overseeing order picking, staging, and shipping operations to ensure accuracy, productivity, and on-time shipment performance.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Planning teams to support alignment of warehouse operations with production schedules, product specifications, SOPs, HACCP, and GMP requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and logistics management, or closely related field.
  • 5 years’ relevant work experience in the manufacturing or logistics industry, preferably in a food processing manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in materials and inventory management control, ERP systems, warehouse management systems, and wireless scanning systems, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of this position.
