Job Description
Job Title: Inventory Control Technician
Department: Inventory
Reports To: Accounting Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for monitoring equipment levels, accuracy and accounting of all inventory movement and reconciliation by computerized inventory and related records of business transactions and office activities of establishment of all related procedures and compliance. Serves as primary mail courier.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.
  • Transfers and charges out materials, tools, and supplies to respective warehouses or departments
  • Prepares materials and supporting documentation for outbound shipping for equipment returns and other outbound company shipments
  • Receives incoming shipments within inventory program and verifies against purchase orders to ensure fulfillment
  • Proper utilization of the bar-code program and all aspects of tracking serialized and non-serialized inventory
  • Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory areas for efficient material storage and handling. Maintains bar coding labeling system on each stock item and manually stocks inventory shelving with stock items received or returned
  • Assists Purchasing/Inventory Control Specialist with monitoring and maintaining perpetual physical inventory
  • Performs purchasing tasks in response to daily replenishing requirements for the purchase of inventoried equipment, materials, and supplies, office supplies, department supplies and specialty items.
  • Restocking of used equipment through the process of equipment returns
  • Performs monthly physical inventory count of warehouse stock items in all locations including, but not limited to: Business Office Warehouse, Call Center, Network Operations, etc. Records, identifies and reconciles inventory discrepancies and maintains best practices to potentially minimize variance.
  • Determines if an item needs to be sent for repair, and processes replaced item into inventory for use
  • Performs routine clerical duties including data entry, maintaining files or records either electronically or manually, operating office machinery or answering telephones
  • Bi-annually performs an analysis of current levels of inventory to ensure they are neither over nor under stocked
  • Safely operates forklift and other equipment such as pallet jack, dolly or buggy in accordance with safety regulations. Follows the PPE safety standard.
  • Maintains storage areas in a clean and orderly manner
  • Assists with disposition of property, supplies, and materials
  • Ensures security of equipment storage areas
  • Utilizes proper General Ledger account number in accordance to the transaction type
  • Ensures that the Hazardous Communication Plan is followed and administered correctly to all Right to Know stations. Ensures that labeling and storage of materials follow the regulations within the Hazardous Communication plan.
  • Assists with Purchases/Issues/Assigns PPE to all Department Managers/Employees while maintaining an accurate record related to the program
  • Maintains stocked First Aid Kits to designated employee vehicles/and within RTC designated facility locations
  • Utilizes current purchasing/inventory software in conjunction with the bar coding program to properly account for and process equipment returns, receipts of new equipment, equipment transfers, and physical inventory counts as required. Also maintains full knowledge of the functions available in the Reach program related to inventory.
  • Responsible for daily mail courier services

Serves as backup to the Purchasing/Inventory Control Specialist
Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
