An Inventory Control Manager leads all parts inventory operations for the dealership, ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient replenishment, and reliable parts flow to service, body shop, and retail customers. This role is responsible for inventory integrity, shrink reduction, improved turns, and overall support of fixed operations profitability.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Accuracy & Control 

  • Maintain 98%+ physical-to-system inventory accuracy across all locations. 
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and full physical inventories; reconcile discrepancies with finance and parts leadership. 
  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and surplus inventory and implement reduction strategies. 
  • Enforce proper binning, labeling, and storage standards for all parts. 

Procurement & Replenishment 

  • Manage ordering, stock replenishment, and emergency purchases through the dealership’s DMS (Procede). 
  • Optimize min/max levels based on demand patterns, seasonal trends, fleet contracts, and OEM guidelines. 
  • Coordinate with the OEM (International) on backorders, supersessions, and return programs. 
  • Ensure cores, warranties, and returns are processed within OEM and vendor timelines. 

Operational Management 

  • Oversee receiving, shipping, stocking, and core handling to maintain compliance with dealership standards. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including proper use of material handling equipment. 
  • Implement controls to reduce shrink, damage, and loss. 
  • Track freight costs and negotiate with carriers as needed. 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Produce weekly and monthly reports on inventory turns, fill rate, obsolescence, stock-outs, and core aging. 
  • Monitor pricing accuracy, cost updates, and supersessions. 
  • Use DMS analytics to guide stocking strategy, vendor consolidation, and operational improvements. 

Cross-Department Collaboration 

  • Partner with the Parts Manager, Service Manager, Warranty Administrator, and Fixed Operations Director to align inventory with service forecasting. 
  • Support sales with availability checks, special orders, and fleet account needs. 
  • Communicate proactively with technicians and advisors to resolve parts availability issues. 

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in related area(Preferred).  
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related field (Preferred). 
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures. 
  • Excellent and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license and must maintain a clean driving record to meet insurability standards.
