Role Name: Inventory Control Supervisor

Location: San Carlos / Hayward
About 1X
We're building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it's not.
To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you're inspired by this, you'll thrive here. We've been at this since 2014 and we're at the point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us.
NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We're not demoing it - we're shipping it. We're excited to meet you, if this excites you.
If you've spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We're scaling, we're hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.
About the Team:
The Logistics team keeps manufacturing moving by ensuring every component is accurately tracked from receipt through production. As 1X scales global robot manufacturing, inventory accuracy becomes critical to production planning, financial reporting, and operational efficiency. This team builds the systems, processes, and discipline that enable manufacturing to operate with confidence.
Your Charter: Lead 1X's inventory control function by ensuring accurate inventory across manufacturing and warehouse operations while developing scalable processes, leading a high-performing inventory team, and providing the operational visibility needed to support production, finance, and supply chain decisions.
Key Outcomes:
  • Maintain best-in-class inventory accuracy by leading global cycle count programs, reconciliation efforts, and inventory governance across warehouses and work-in-process inventory.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Inventory Control Analysts that delivers accurate inventory reporting and operational excellence.
  • Deliver timely inventory health reporting, KPI dashboards, and executive-level analytics that support production planning, financial reporting, and supply chain decisions.
  • Reduce inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis, process improvements, and standardized inventory control methodologies.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and Logistics to optimize inventory flow, support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and improve overall inventory performance.

Key Competencies:
  • Proven leadership experience building and developing inventory control or warehouse operations teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate inventory data into actionable business decisions.
  • Deep understanding of inventory control methodologies, including cycle counting, ABC classification, inventory reconciliation, and root cause analysis.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborative communicator who builds strong cross-functional partnerships and drives continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, including experience leading or mentoring a team.
  • Experience managing cycle count programs, inventory reconciliation, variance investigations, and inventory reporting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar business intelligence tools.

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing in robotics, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, or electronics industries.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD).
  • Experience supporting Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), duty drawback programs, or global logistics operations.
  • Experience leading ERP implementations, inventory system improvements, or warehouse process optimization initiatives.

What does a successful 1X Team Member look like:
Team members at 1X who thrive here are builders. They move fast, own their work completely, and treat time like it's the one thing you can't get back - because it is. They say what they mean, finish what they start, and hold themselves to a standard before anyone has to ask. We push each other to be better, and we do it with honesty and respect.
Compensation Range:
$90,000 - $115,000
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous paid time off, company holidays, and parental leave
