Job Summary: Distribution Associate - Madison, GA
About the Role
Join a dynamic distribution team as a Distribution Associate in Madison, GA! This hands-on contractor role is ideal for candidates who thrive in active warehouse environments, enjoy a mix of manual material handling and forklift operation, and are open to working weekends. Prove your skills and dedication-top performers have a real opportunity to convert to full-time employment with BD.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer orders: scan bar codes, pick cases, label boxes
- Palletize and scan completed orders; safely operate shrink wrapper
- Use RF scanners and operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as needed
- Verify order accuracy, package shipments, and complete dock manifest duties
- Manually unload 18-wheeler trucks (primarily manual labor, minimal forklift)
- Assist across various warehouse functions as backup for team members
- Maintain safety and organization standards in a busy, high-volume environment
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' warehouse/distribution experience, including manual labor
- Demonstrated forklift operation experience (not just straight forklift roles)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive, physical tasks
- Competency with RF scanners, pallet jacks, and basic warehouse technology
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Preferred Skills
- Electric pallet jack certification
- Experience with dock manifest procedures
- Exposure to busy manufacturing/distribution settings
