Job description


AFW is looking for multiple Warehouse Associates, from receiving associates, general warehouse associates, and customer load out associates in Firestone, CO.
Job Overview
Customer load out associates pick and pull merchandise, load and unload merchandise to and from other AFW facilities, load out customers in a safe and efficient manner, and any other task as asked by the AFW management team.
Receiving associates will help ensure AFW products are safely received from the truck shipment to the warehouse before making its way to our customer's homes.
Employees are responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, identifying, and tagging merchandise. If you are eager to help our customers and make a difference, then AFW is looking for you!
Compensation
Starting pay: $18.50 and up depending on experience and position
  • Weekend Premium - Additional $2.00/hr, 3rd shift Premium - Additional $2.00/hr, and Mid-shift Premium - Additional $1.00/hr

  • Order Puller: Starting at $18.50
  • Customer Loadout Associate: starting at $17.50
  • Receiving Associates: $18.00 (.50 more can be earned if cross trained in Order Pulling)
Job Requirements
  • Adhere to the AFW asset protection policies and identify and prevent fraud.
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques, and the ability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to operate a forklift and order picker for pulling and putting away stock, order processing, loading, and unloading trailers.
Job Expectations
  • Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally.
  • Able to break down merchandise inside trailers/containers - unstack and position merchandise for removal from trailers/containers.
  • Wrap, load, and secure merchandise into the customer's vehicle without damaging the merchandise or the vehicle.
  • Able to confirm that customer receives correct merchandise.
  • Able to inspect AFW rental vehicles and fill out the appropriate paperwork.
  • Uncrate and re-create merchandise for inspection when requested.
  • Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
  • Able to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Able to correctly use a hand truck.
  • Able to safely handle product from 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Able to safely transfer products to and from pallets.
  • Inspect all power equipment and complete the Vehicle Inspection Report before operation.
  • Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.
  • Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently and ability to handle/manipulate up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Requires lifting, griping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
