Job description

This position is for NIGHT SHIFT (Second Shift) 5pm until 2am:

The Assistant Night Shift Manager is responsible for:

  • · Assisting the night shift manager in the direction of 20+ individuals in collaboration with the supervisor and team leads.
  • · Directing the full end-to-end order fulfillment process from the pick-pack stage, loading/staging to ensure all freight is prepped for our drivers.
  • The Assistant Night Shift Manager ensures that all roles in all shifts are trained and follow all safety protocols in accordance with ADP Safety program (including OSHA) requirements and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core: nightly accountability for performance and execution in the following areas

  • Assist in the supervision of all Picking, Packing, staging, loading for all locations
  • Quality Control
  • Routing and Dispatching
  • Equipment Maintenance and Inspection as applicable
  • Respond to all issues via text or email to ensure shift communication is fluid.
  • Facility Issues – Ensure the facility is safe for the shift and report any concerns or issues
  • Investigate inventory / item issues and collaborate with Inventory team on item solutions as necessary
  • Participate with Quality Control with White Glove Customer Programs
  • Guide and train personnel on quality packaging and item handling as applicable
  • Operate necessary machinery to support the team as needed

Leadership: Strategic

  • Ensure all team members are cross trained
  • Strive for 100% order fulfillment as a core goal.
  • Pivot as needed to ensure the highest-level service to our customers and the sales organization
  • Exemplify the “CAN DO” attitude with all team members
  • Define any corrective actions as necessary and implement them in collaboration with Quality Control.
  • Oversee with QC the implementation of new procedures and communication to team(s) as necessary with email, training, documentation, as required.
  • Review any procedures and documentation to ensure that it is aligned with the ELT.

Additional Duties

  • Support the Night Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager, & Operations Manager
  • Continuous process improvement in collaboration with shift leaders

Compliance & Safety

  • Active participant and contributor to the Safety Committee
  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards, as defined by the organization
  • Ensure all accidents and damages are properly reported and documented
