Inventory Control Manager

Department: Supply Chain Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Location: Arizona, Utah, or Nevada Status: Full-Time, Exempt Salary: Comprehensive Benefits

Position Summary

Goodfellow Corporation manages approximately $40 million in inventory across six branch warehouses throughout the Western United States. The Inventory Control Manager will lead the development of a best-in-class inventory management program by improving inventory accuracy, demand forecasting, cycle counting, reorder point management, and inventory reporting. This strategic leadership role partners closely with Purchasing, Parts, Warehouse Operations, Finance, and Data Analytics to maximize inventory performance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own inventory accuracy across all branch warehouses.
  • Develop and manage a formal cycle count program with measurable accuracy goals.
  • Establish and maintain reorder points and safety stock levels in NetSuite.
  • Develop demand forecasting processes using sales trends and service demand.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Data Analyst for inventory reporting and price file maintenance.
  • Publish weekly and monthly KPIs including fill rate, inventory turns, stockouts, and obsolete inventory.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce slow-moving and excess inventory.
  • Partner with Parts, Purchasing, Warehouse, Service, Sales, and Finance teams.
  • Support annual physical inventories and continuous process improvements.
First 90 Days
  • Complete a NetSuite inventory health audit across all branches.
  • Launch formal cycle count schedules.
  • Establish reorder points and safety stock for high-volume inventory.
  • Implement executive KPI reporting.
  • Present an action plan for obsolete inventory reduction.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain experience.
  • ERP experience (NetSuite preferred).
  • Experience managing cycle count programs.

  • Knowledge of reorder points, safety stock, ABC classification, EOQ, and inventory turns.

Preferred

  • Heavy equipment, construction, mining, or industrial distribution experience.
  • Multi-location inventory management.
  • NetSuite saved searches and reporting.
  • APICS CPIM or similar certification.
Travel & Work Environment

Travel up to approximately 25% to support branch operations. Work is performed in both office and warehouse environments and may include occasional visits to industrial job sites while following all safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk warehouse facilities, stand for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, and safely navigate industrial environments.
