Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients from infants to elders, using standardized assessments and observational evaluations.
  • Create tailored therapy plans that emphasize both immediate and long-term goals regarding communication, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to establish cohesive treatment strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain seamless care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage in continuous learning and peer collaboration to remain at the forefront of your field.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of hire.
