The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control systems across all production and packaging equipment. This role supports the achievement of performance, quality, service, and cost goals by ensuring equipment reliability and adhering to all safety standards, company policies, and standard operating procedures. A strong technical background and commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control components across all production and packaging equipment and systems within the facility. This role requires a strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize downtime.

The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform all tasks in a safe, compliant, and professional manner, contributing to the achievement of key operational goals related to performance, quality, service, and cost efficiency. This includes adherence to all company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as following established manufacturing practices and maintenance protocols..

Technicians must demonstrate a proactive approach to equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support overall production success.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and PLC-based production equipment and support systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and restore functionality to mechanical, electrical, and control systems using both standard and specialized tools.
  • Maintain and execute the plant’s lubrication program in accordance with established standards to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Support the operation and upkeep of facility systems including compressed air, condensate, chemical transfer, water, sanitary waste, natural gas, HVAC, and other utilities.
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment operates reliably to meet departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate closely with other maintenance team members to achieve overall production goals.
  • Perform basic repairs and routine maintenance on all processing equipment, including tasks involving both high and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels for maintenance supplies and coordinate the procurement of necessary parts and materials.
  • Conduct minor plumbing and building repairs as needed.
  • Partner with technical experts to deepen understanding of equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance procedures.
  • Interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure proper installation, operation, and repair of systems.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks and manage time independently to meet operational needs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities in alignment with company standards and schedules.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, productivity, and quality; initiate corrective actions and submit change requests as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety policies.
  • Provide support to quality, sanitation, warehouse, and production departments as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

PAY

  • 1ST Shift Hourly Pay Rate: Ranges between $28.00 and $40.00 (varies based on experience).
  • 2ND Shift Hourly Pay Rate: Ranges between $29.00 and $41.00 (varies based on experience).
  • 3RD Shift Hourly Pay Rate: Ranges between $30.00 and $42.00 (varies based on experience).

SCHEDULE

  • 1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • 1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
  • 1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
  • Management will communicate any overtime hours within 24 hours at minimum, in advance, and as needed.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year-technical degree, associate’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience with maintenance of mechanical and electrical components in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • PLC Troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows based programs.
  • Familiarity with basic processing equipment and calibration requirements. Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to understand technical records and communicate technical data.
  • Ability to work independently or within a group with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, SQF and other regulatory requirements helpful.
