Job Summary:
As a Lab Software Engineer, you will design, develop, configure, test, and support software solutions that connect laboratory instruments, middleware, LIS/LIMS platforms, and enterprise healthcare systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex workflow challenges, building reliable integrations, and supporting mission-critical systems that directly impact patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support laboratory software solutions, including LIS/LIMS applications, middleware, Salesforce applications, instrument interfaces, and enterprise integrations.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between laboratory systems, analyzers, EHR platforms, Salesforce, and other enterprise applications using HL7, ASTM, APIs, and related technologies.
  • Build and support software applications, automation tools, reports, scripts, and database solutions that improve operational efficiency and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, interface, workflow, and system performance issues across production and non-production environments.
  • Partner with laboratory staff, business stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions that support operational and business objectives.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, testing, validation activities, deployments, and production support.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to ensure reliable and uninterrupted laboratory operations.
  • Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, validation records, and compliance standards while providing end-user support and knowledge transfer as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, healthcare IT, laboratory systems, Salesforce development, or systems integration.
  • Experience developing solutions using one or more of the following: Salesforce, Apex, Lightning Web Components, C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
  • Experience designing, supporting, or troubleshooting system integrations and interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL development, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with APIs, web services, and integration technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience with LIS, LIMS, laboratory middleware, instrument interfaces, or clinical laboratory workflows.
  • Knowledge of HL7, ASTM, TCP/IP, REST APIs, and healthcare integration methodologies.
  • Experience supporting healthcare systems, EHR integrations, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, validation processes, change management, and audit readiness.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Salesforce certifications or healthcare industry certifications are a plus.
