Job description

Position Summary...The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of automation and traditional systems within supply chain operations. This role leverages advanced data analysis and project management to drive operational excellence and process optimization. The position requires effective communication across teams to influence strategic decisions and implement technology solutions that enhance efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee conventional and automation projects, ensure compliance with standards, and foster collaboration to achieve business objectives while maintaining a focus on innovation and measurable performance improvements.
About the team:
This team leads the development of new capabilities within the grocery supply chain program. It plays a pivotal role in transforming Walmart’s distribution network, driving design, costing and business case development. The team integrates automation, data analysis, and process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Members collaborate across functions to design and implement innovative solutions, supporting the evolution of supply chain operations through strategic project management and technology integration.   • Lead the system design, integration, and business case development of new facilities, and retrofit. 
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to develop insights that inform strategic decisions. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify automation opportunities and resolve technical challenges. 
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and resources to ensure successful implementation of automation initiatives. 
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by analyzing workflows and recommending enhancements. 
  • Oversee financial evaluations to ensure projects meet return-on-investment targets.
