Job description

Role: PC Refresh/Deployment Technician

Location: Raleigh, NC 27615

Schedule: Core business hours, Monday-Friday onsite at schools in Wake County

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) contract position (3-4 months)

- Potential to convert to a permanent FTE depending on performance!

Starting Pay: $17.50/hr-$24/hr (pending years of exp, certifications, etc.)

Company Overview:

This is a dedicated IT service provider client committed to delivering high-quality technology solutions to educational institutions. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PC Refresh Technicians to join the team in supporting a project for the Wake County School System.

Job Summary:

As the PC Refresh Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the school system's technology infrastructure is up-to-date and functioning smoothly. You will be responsible for assisting in the refresh and deployment of computers and peripherals, providing support to faculty and staff, and ensuring a seamless transition during the project. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to work in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the inventory management of existing and new PC hardware.
  • Remove old computers and peripherals from designated locations within the school system.
  • Prepare new PCs for deployment, including installation of operating systems and necessary software applications.
  • Configure and test new devices to ensure they meet functional specifications and school system requirements.
  • Provide on-site technical support during the roll-out, including troubleshooting issues with new hardware and software.
  • Assist in the documentation of all processes, configurations, and issues encountered during the refresh project.
  • Work closely with school IT staff to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Participate in training sessions to familiarize yourself with the school’s IT systems and protocols.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of computer hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
