Job description

General Responsibilities:

Provides continuous service to guests seated in the dining room. The Waiter / Waitress also

maintains the cleanliness and accessibility of the dining room by promptly cleaning tables and

chairs, cleaning food and drink spills, and maintaining the dining area restrooms.

Principal Duties:

• Provides excellent guest service by welcoming guests, carrying trays, setting and bussing tables, and suggestive selling.

• Checks on guests, providing condiments, refilling drinks, and working to provide a pleasant dining experience.

• Properly addresses food related issues with guests and management.

• Works with other team members and managers to ensure accurate tickets for guests.

• Communicates guest feedback to management and team where necessary.

• Circulates around the dining area and stays alert to guests’ request for service,

responding with a sense of urgency.

• Notifies a manager of any guest issues.

• Suggestively sells items to guests.

• Provides guests with to-go boxes and cups upon request.

• Thanking guests for dining at Piccadilly with a friendly smile and farewell.

• Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes tables and work surfaces between uses.

• Cleans highchairs after each use and returns to the appropriate area of the cafeteria.

• Stocks and maintains condiments stand in assigned section.

• Maintains restrooms for cleanliness and supplies.

• Maintains a clean and safe environment by following proper food and workplace safety

techniques. (Includes clear walkways and the reporting of safety hazards and broken or

faulty equipment / furniture / supplies)

• Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties as assigned by the Restaurant Cleaning

Program.

• Uses good interpersonal skills to create a friendly and comfortable environment for self

and others.

• Performs additional duties as assigned by a manager

Physical Demands:

• Good hearing and visual ability.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds at waist level throughout an 8 – 12 hour

shift

• Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds for distances of at least 10 feet.

Continuous exposure to several disagreeable elements of factors such as:

• Exposure to hot and cold food items on serving trays

• Standing and continuously active for an 8 to 12 hours shift

• Exposure to slippery floors

• Moderate noise levels

• Frequent walking, grasping, carrying, bending, crouching, and reaching
