Job description

ADMISSIONS AND CONCESSIONS TEAM MEMBER (PART-TIME)

Reports To:CONCESSIONS COORDINATOR

Post Open: AUGUST 11, 2026

FSLA Status:NON-EXEMPT


SUMMARY

Under supervision, operates a clean, safe and organized concession stand, per the guidelines of MBCP&R and the Health Department, while providing excellent customer service and a positive work environment for our employees. This position is flexible between two locations: Berkeley 2000 Recreation Center in Martinsburg and W. Randy Smith Recreation Center in Inwood. You may be scheduled to work at either location. This position also includes collecting admission fees from patrons attending recreational events at MBCP&R facilities held in one of our park facilities, most commonly, although not limited to, War Memorial Park or Poor House Farm Park. This is a part-time position (up to 19 hours per week).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS include the following:

  • Have reliable transportation
  • Accurately take and prepare customer(s) order
  • Understanding of credit card functions and effectively use the provided point-of-sale system
  • Ability to prepare food orders as required
  • Maintain and keep a clean work area
  • Maintain inventory and stock items, as necessary; notify Supervisor of low inventory or needs
  • Demonstrate informative and professional assistance when working with vendors, co-workers, and the public
  • Ability to communicate kindly and professionally with patrons at all times
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Have a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends
  • Pass a background check
  • Capacity to understand and follow oral and written orders

EDUATION and/or EXPERIENCE

MATHMATICAL SKILLS

Knowledge of basic math; handle patronage statistics and prepare accurate reports, as requested, in a timely manner.

WORK CONDITIONS

Facilities are covered, climate-controlled for concessions and admissions. Potential for outdoor concessions or admissions does exist, especially during special events. Some exposure to heat, rain, cold or wind may be possible.
