Position: Senior Technical Analyst
Location:Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Reports To:Senior Manager, Information Technology

Job Purpose:We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and security of our technical infrastructure while supporting end-users and managing various IT tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage VMware and Windows servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Maintain and support SAN and NAS storage systems.
  • Oversee web content and email filtering services.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise anti-virus solutions.
  • Manage and support the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Maintain Active Directory and group policies.
  • Support enterprise backup systems.
  • Provide network and firewall support.
  • Monitor IT system events and alerts.
  • Respond proactively to security alerts and manage security tools.
  • Collaborate with managed services providers for network and security operations.
  • Implement and coordinate IT security awareness campaigns for end-users.
  • Develop and manage a vulnerability management program and coordinate testing.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure and security labs.
  • Keep system administration documentation up-to-date.
  • Assist with end-user support, troubleshooting incidents, and fulfilling service requests.
  • Participate in various IT projects.
  • Join the after-hours on-call support rotation.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Computer Science or equivalent IT experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a systems administrator role.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is an asset.

Skills and Specialized Knowledge:

  • Experience with Windows Server 2016+ and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in VMware environments (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi 7+).
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Azure AD).
  • Familiarity with XDR endpoint protection technology.
  • Experience with NAS and SAN storage arrays (NetApp, Dell Compellent).
  • Networking and firewall expertise (Meraki, Palo Alto).
  • Working knowledge of Zebra WMS tools and hardware.
  • Experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Meraki, Intune).
  • Proficiency with HPE server hardware.
  • Knowledge of penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
  • Ability to conduct phishing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools.
  • PowerShell and other scripting languages.
