Be the Best VP Clinical Operations – Hospice You Can Be

The Vice President, Clinical Operations is responsible for leading enterprise hospice clinical operations execution across nursing practice, regional clinical operations support, hospice inpatient center performance, and interdisciplinary care delivery. This role serves as a key operating partner to the SVP Clinical Operations, translating enterprise clinical strategy into scalable field execution, consistent clinical practice, and measurable operational outcomes.

This role provides executive leadership for hospice inpatient centers, nursing and clinical care delivery standards, regional clinical support infrastructure, RAHA/call center coordination, nutrition support alignment, and clinical operations initiatives. The VP partners closely with Quality and Field Compliance, Clinical Logistics and Resource Utilization, Patient Experience, Medical Leadership, Business Development, Learning and Development, Finance, IT, HR, Regional Operations, and site leadership to ensure high-quality, compliant, financially responsible, and patient-centered hospice care.

  • Registered Nurse license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of hospice leadership required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive hospice, palliative care, post-acute, or related clinical leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior multi-site clinical operations leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hospice inpatient center operations, including GIP level of care, inpatient staffing models, survey readiness, and hospital partnerships.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations, Conditions of Participation, documentation expectations, hospice levels of care, and accreditation standards.
  • Experience leading clinical operations in a matrixed, multi-region, multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into field-executable operating plans.
  • Experience developing and using dashboards, metrics, performance routines, and action plans to drive clinical and operational improvement.
  • Strong executive communication, change management, financial acumen, analytical thinking, and presentation skills.
