Job description

Smarty is a self-funded, profitable, and growing SaaS company recognized as one of Utah's Top Workplaces four years running. Our products touch millions of addresses every day, and we're looking for a sales leader who can build on that momentum and take our revenue engine to the next level.
We have an immediate opportunity for a VP of Sales to lead and scale our sales organization. This is a great role for someone who has built and led high-performing SaaS sales teams before and wants to own the strategy. You'll partner directly with the CEO and company leadership to define go-to-market strategy, build a durable sales culture, and drive predictable, scalable revenue growth across our core location intelligence solutions, including address validation, geocoding, and address enrichment.
This is an onsite, non-remote opening in Orem, UT.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and own the strategic sales plan, including design, segmentation, and quota setting, in partnership with the CEO and company leadership
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales team, including org design and headcount planning, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development
  • Own the sales pipeline and forecasting process, providing accurate and timely revenue projections to leadership
  • Own the sales department budget, including tooling, travel, and resource allocation
  • Own the sales methodology, process, and tech stack, including CRM administration and sales enablement tools, and audit processes as needed to ensure proper execution
  • Serve as an executive point of contact for strategic and high-value accounts, and engage directly on key deals as needed
  • Hold weekly one-on-ones and pipeline reviews with each sales team member to drive deal progression and remove blockers
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align sales strategy with product positioning and pricing decisions
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity, and adjust sales strategy and messaging accordingly
  • Develop and refine sales playbooks and training programs to build breadth and depth across the team
  • Own sales compensation plan design and administration in partnership with HR and Finance
  • Lead the annual performance review process and provide ongoing coaching to improve individual and team performance
  • Present regular business reviews and revenue updates to company leadership

What You Bring
  • 7-10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, including 3-5+ years in a senior sales leadership role such as VP of Sales, Head of Sales, or Sales Director
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling sales teams and organizational structure
  • Track record of designing and hitting revenue targets, ideally in a subscription or usage-based pricing model
  • Experience owning a sales budget and making resource tradeoffs against revenue goals
  • Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting methodology, and sales tech stack decisions; experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM preferred
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate sales data, market trends, and strategy into clear direction for the team and for leadership
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

What We'll Do for You
Benefits & Perks

    • Variable: $150,000-$200,000
    • OTE: $300,000-$400,000
  • 100% paid health, dental, and basic life insurance premiums (including family coverage)
  • Long-term disability insurance
  • Generous PTO that increases with tenure
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Adjustable standing desk and modern tools
