The Vice President - Operations, BLS is responsible for leading operational performance across Building Life Sciences (BLS) projects and services, ensuring best-in-class delivery across safety, quality, cost, and schedule in highly regulated environments.
This role drives operational excellence, execution consistency, and scalable delivery across biopharma, pharmaceutical, and life sciences facilities. The VP of Operations partners with engineering, quality, and project management teams to ensure compliance with GMP standards while optimizing execution and driving continuous improvement.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Performance
  • Lead operational performance across all BLS projects and execution activities
  • Ensure consistent delivery across safety, quality, schedule, cost, and productivity metrics
  • Drive standardized operating models, KPIs, and performance management systems
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to achieve targets

Execution Excellence in Regulated Environments
  • Oversee execution across the full project lifecycle with strong focus on GMP compliance
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory, validation, and quality standards in life sciences environments
  • Drive consistency in cleanroom construction, process utilities, and validated systems delivery
  • Ensure readiness for commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) processes

Preconstruction & Operational Planning
  • Partner with commercial and preconstruction teams to support bid strategy and project planning
  • Provide operational input into estimating, constructability, and execution methodologies
  • Ensure resource planning and operational readiness for complex BLS projects
  • Improve competitiveness through optimized delivery strategies and planning

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across BLS operations
  • Optimize productivity, reduce rework, and improve delivery predictability
  • Implement standardized processes, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Enhance scalability of operations to support growth in life sciences markets

People Leadership & Capability Development
  • Build and lead high-performing operational and field leadership teams
  • Develop specialized capabilities in GMP environments, clean utilities, and validation processes
  • Drive workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and execution excellence

Safety, Quality & Organizational Alignment
  • Champion a strong safety culture aligned with Incident-Free Workplace principles

Show your expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Extensive project and construction management leadership in complex EPC or EPCM environments
  • Proven EPC performance track record across large project portfolios
  • GMP / GxP knowledge required (formal certifications preferred)
  • Deep expertise in life sciences project delivery and regulated environments (GMP/GxP)
  • Strong understanding of cleanroom construction, process utilities, and CQV processes
  • Proven ability to lead operational performance in complex, highly regulated settings
  • Strong leadership capability across multi-site, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to implement standardized processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced therapeutics facilities
  • Proven success in large-scale, complex project or operations environment
