This role allows developers to gain experience, build their portfolios, and contribute to a meaningful cause. Volunteers typically work remotely or on-site, depending on the organization's needs.

What are the typical responsibilities of a volunteer web developer?

As a Volunteer Web Developer, your main responsibilities often include building, updating, and maintaining websites to support the organization's mission, designing user-friendly interfaces, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. You may work independently or as part of a small team, collaborating with staff, other volunteers, or external partners on projects that vary in scope and complexity. Regular tasks could also involve implementing new features, ensuring website accessibility, and training team members on web best practices. This role provides hands-on experience and the chance to make a tangible difference for communities or causes, while expanding your professional network and technical skill set.
