Position Summary:
The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University is seeking an IT Support Coordinator in Boca Raton, FL.
This position coordinates and supports one or more computer based information systems, ensuring effective day-to-day operations and service delivery. The role contributes to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support system reliability, security, and performance. Interprets and applies departmental and University policies related to information systems and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience. Supports the University community in resolving technical issues, while communicating relevant SUS and University policies, standards, and contractual requirements. May assist in designing, developing, and conducting analyses or special projects within assigned functional areas.
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily IT support operations across the College.
  • Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students by diagnosing, communicating, and resolving issues related to end-used devices, operating systems, applications, networks, and phone systems.
  • Support classrooms, conference rooms, and other instructional spaces, including audio/visual systems, telepresence equipment, instructional technology, and digital signage.
  • Support and maintain on-premises and cloud-based systems, including support for servers, virtual environments, endpoint management, and applications and services hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on technical needs related to research, applications, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Maintain technical documentation, inventory records, configuration information, and operational procedures.
  • Collects and analyzes data as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with TSG team members on technical projects, deployments, and operational initiatives.
  • Travel to multiple campus locations as needed to support IT operations.
  • Support special projects and perform other job-related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Ability to travel to various university campus locations, as required.
Ability to work outside of normal business hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems in higher education environments.
Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience supporting classroom and conference room technology, including instructional systems, audio/visual equipment, telepresence, or digital signage.
Foundational knowledge of scripting or automation tools, such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, to support task efficiency and system management.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms or virtual desktop environments, such as VMware, Horizon, or Proxmox.
Exposure to cloud platforms, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Working knowledge of endpoint management, server support, networking fundamentals, and technical documentation standards.
Interest in or experience supporting AI-enabled tools, emerging technologies, and modern computing environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills with a focus on user support and service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate tasks effectively in a fast-paced support environment.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team oriented, service focused environment.
Salary:
$60,000 - $67,000 annually.
