Job Summary

• To observe and report any suspicious activity to the University of West Georgia Police Department.
• To assist students, faculty, employees and guests with any questions or problems.
• Patrol all Academic and Administrative buildings
• Assist with other non-law enforcement duties as assigned.
• Provides safety escorts upon request.

Required Qualifications

• Student must be 18 years of age.
• Student must be registered as a full-time UWG student.
• Student should have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
• Student should not have negative reports or prior records on file with University Police
• Students must pass a Criminal Fingerprint check through GCIC
• Students must pass a hair follicle drug screen
• Students must have the ability and willingness to work their assigned shift, and to be responsible for finding a replacement in the event they cannot fulfill said shift assignment
• Must have a valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

• Students are required to be physically able to walk up and down stairs, over uneven ground, and stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Student majoring in Criminal Justice related field or interest in the ALETE Academy

Special Applicant Instructions

• Students are required to work in inclement weather conditions.
• Students will work in dark hours and low light conditions and should have no vision issues that could create a safety issue and ability to hear radio traffic.
