Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the daily operations with TCF’s third-party logistics partners (3PLs).
  • Streamline logistics procedures and workflow, create process improvement suggestions for the logistics department, engage with other departments as needed to minimize negative impact.
  • Assist with ERP transition as it relates to Logistics functions.
  • Process, audit and approve freight invoices/logs from 3PLs.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and monitor updates on domestic and international freight issues.
  • Partner with Customer Service team with freight damage claim submission and required follow up/analysis.
  • Advise the Supply Chain team on inbound transportation activities including scheduling, tracking and obtaining freight quotes.
  • Partner with Supply Chain team on inbound transportation activities and opportunities for improvement - including scheduling, tracking and obtaining freight quotes.
  • Second level (escalated) point of contact for Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, carriers and other logistics partners regarding freight issues.
  • Develop and deliver new hire training and continuing education for Logistics Coordinators.
  • Lead and manage Logistics KPI reporting and analytics.
  • Provide tactical support to the plant Shipping teams as needed.
  • Assist with International compliance, documentation, training.
  • Act, live, and behave by TCF Core Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management desired or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience processing domestic and international shipping activities and resolving freight-related issues.
  • Industry related certifications desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of different shipping modes (Less Than Truckload, Full Truckload, Over-Dimensional, Parcel, Containers, etc.) and associated transportation regulations.
  • Proactive problem solver and independent decision maker capable of making sound financial decisions related to freight expenditures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set timelines and independently prioritize workload.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software programs and equipment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel and reach.
  • Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer.

As a Logistic Analyst you will be offered pay of $54,000-$62,000 per year dependent on experience.  You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus tied to overall performance of the organization.
