Job description

Student Volunteer Training Position Cafe & Store Associate ---In order to apply for this position, you must be a currently enrolled student in the Transition program at SASED.


Position Title: Caf & Store Associate (Volunteer Training Position)
Location: SASED Transition Program/The SASED Station Cafe
Schedule: Part-time, Hours range from 8:30am-2:30pm


Position Summary

The Caf & Store Associate position provides students (ages 1822) with hands-on work experience in a retail and caf setting. Volunteers will learn and practice job skills such as customer service, food and beverage preparation, sales, organization, and teamwork. This position is designed to help students build independence, develop employability skills, and prepare for future employment opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Work with your teammates and supervisors
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner (Welcome customers with a smile)
  • Assist with preparing and serving coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
  • Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and make change
  • Restock shelves and maintain store displays
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Keep the caf and store area clean and organized (tables, counters, floors, supplies)
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors
  • Provide excellent customer service


Qualifications

  • Age 1822 and enrolled in the Transition Program at SASED
  • Interest in learning job skills in a retail and caf environment
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand, move, and perform tasks during shift hours
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
