Job description

Cornerstone Kids partners with families to help preschool, elementary, and preteen children live out the mission of "Helping People Know Jesus and Make Him Known." This role equips and supports volunteers in building relationships with kids and discipling them at the 84th Street Campus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PROVIDE SUPPORT AND COORDINATION FOR VOLUNTEER-LED MINISTRY
  • Build and maintain relationships with kids' ministry volunteers at 84th
  • Support volunteers in preparation for weekly ministry gatherings
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to ensure clarity around roles, schedules, and expectations
  • Help ensure volunteers feel informed, supported, and equipped for ministry
  • Encourage collaboration and communication within volunteer teams
  • Support the NextGen Director in reinforcing ministry vision and practices
  • Oversee Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming.

MAINTAIN WEEKLY MINISTRY READINESS
  • Prepare and organize materials and environments for weekly kids' ministry gatherings
  • Ensure teaching materials, supplies, and spaces are ready prior to gatherings
  • Maintain organization of ministry spaces and resources

RECRUIT & EQUIP
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers to serve in Cornerstone Kids.
  • Collaborate with NextGen Admin for volunteer on-boarding and training.
  • Serve in rooms where volunteers cannot be found, fill in when and where needed and monitor classroom ratios.

PARTICIPATE IN PLANNING EVENTS AND MINISTRY LOGISTICS
  • Assist in planning and execution of MEGA Camp, Christmas Family Movie Night, 5th grade Celebration and various other events in kids' ministry
  • Help move event ideas from planning to implementation
  • Provide on-site support during events

PROVIDE RELATIONAL PRESENCE AT 84TH
  • Attend kids' ministry gatherings on Sundays and Wednesdays
  • Build relationships with kids, volunteers and parents
  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming and engaging ministry environment

WORK WITH INTERNAL PARTNERS
  • Participate in weekly meetings with NextGen Director
  • Participate in weekly meetings with NextGen team
  • Participate in weekly staff prayer meetings
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings/gatherings

SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS
  • Must know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
  • Must be willing to become a regular attendee of Cornerstone Church.
  • Willing to commit to supporting God's work at Cornerstone through prayerfully considered financial generosity.
  • Passion for God and kids.
  • Terrific people skills with an ability to inspire volunteer leaders.
  • Posses a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be detail-oriented, and flexible.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills via phone, and in person.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Windows software, internet and willingness to learn new applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Regular standing, walking, crouching, bending, pushing or pulling
  • Understand, speak, read and write fluent English
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Able to use fine motor hand functions
  • Able to be physically in office 1 day per week

EDUCATION
  • Experience preferred in ministry, administration, communications or related field.
