Who We're Looking For:
As a key member of the R&D team, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging, and supporting new and existing Laborie software as well as integrating the software into Laborie medical devices. Working independently under limited supervision, performing highly complex and specialized level software project activities. Can function as a lead on project teams and may oversee other engineers. Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems in a creative manner unique to each project.
About the Role:
  • Responsible for design and implementation of system software, from concept phase through design transfer / product launch.
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, software development plans, software development time estimates and resource efforts.
  • Complete software design and development documents in compliance to Laborie QMS, ISO and other relevant standards.
  • Design modular software that is flexible and appropriate to a growing, multi-year program. Anticipate the software need of future products and extensions.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or equivalent and 10+ years of experience.
  • Solid track record of designing and developing production ready software, knowledge of software implementation best practices and deployment strategies
  • Practical programming experience developing software (at least one modern OO language) for a medical device (IEC 62304)
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and OO concepts
