About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to the development of AI-powered SaaS platform for the construction industry. You will work across the entire stack, from building responsive user interfaces to designing robust backend services and databases.

This is an opportunity to work on real, production code that will be used by enterprise customers. You will be involved in key initiatives based on our product roadmap, specifically focusing on multi-tenancy, payments integration, and AI features.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Full-Stack Development: Assist in developing and maintaining full-stack web applications using our core tech stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL.

โ€ข Feature Implementation: Build new product features from concept to deployment. You will work on projects such as implementing Stripe for payments, building organization-level data isolation, and creating new AI-powered insights for portfolios.

โ€ข Backend Logic: Design, implement, and optimize backend logic, databases, and data pipelines to ensure performance and scalability.

โ€ข Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational and product requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and technical discussions.

โ€ข Quality Assurance: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code. Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the application stack.

โ€ข Infrastructure: Assist with deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based infrastructure using platforms such as Render (experience with GCP is a plus).

โ€ข AI Integration: Help build and integrate AI features, such as portfolio narrative generation and AI-assisted workflows, using Large Language Models like Google Gemini.

Technology Stack

โ€ข Core: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Node.js, Express.js

โ€ข Database: PostgreSQL

โ€ข AI & LLMs: Google Gemini API, Prompt Engineering, Embeddings

โ€ข Cloud & DevOps: Render, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, CI/CD pipelines

โ€ข Version Control: Git, GitHub

โ€ข Tooling: REST APIs, JSON

Minimum Qualifications:

โ€ข Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM field.

โ€ข Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.

โ€ข Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

โ€ข Experience building web applications with React.

โ€ข Experience building backend services with Node.js and Express.

โ€ข Familiarity with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).

โ€ข Knowledge of REST APIs and experience integrating with backend services.

โ€ข Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub.

Preferred Qualifications:

โ€ข Prior internship or significant academic project experience building full-stack applications.

โ€ข Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, LLM providers like OpenAI/Gemini).

โ€ข Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

โ€ข Familiarity with cloud-native application development and deployment on platforms like Render or Google Cloud Platform.

โ€ข An interest in or experience with AI concepts, such as prompt engineering or working with LLM APIs.

What You Will Gain

โ€ข Real-world experience building a production SaaS platform used by enterprise clients.

โ€ข Exposure to the full development lifecycle and ownership of meaningful product features.

โ€ข Experience working with cutting-edge AI technologies and multi-tenant architecture.
