Title:Intern - Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Pompano Beach, FL

Compensation: $20.00/hour

THE POSITION: Intern - Manufacturing Engineering

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Process Documentation Intern to support our manufacturing operations team in capturing, organizing, and improving production processes. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is ideal for someone interested in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and document production and assembly line processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions on the shop floor.

  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors to gather accurate and complete information.

  • Translate technical and operational knowledge into clear, visual, and user-friendly documentation.

  • Develop process flowcharts, visual work instructions, and job aids using tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or process mapping software (e.g. Visio).

  • Maintain a central repository of documentation and ensure timely updates to reflect process changes.

  • Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or inefficiencies in current documentation and propose improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives by assisting in value stream mapping and process standardization.

  • Develop detailed training plans and training efficiency tracking tools as well as a training database for quick references of up-to-date training and skills.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

    • Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex manufacturing processes.

    • Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, both verbally and in writing.

        • Familiarity with manufacturing environments, safety protocols, and lean principles (preferred).

        • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Visio (or similar tools).

        • Comfortable spending time on the shop floor, observing operations, and interacting with production personnel.

        • Self-motivated, organized, and attentive to detail.
