Job description

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a notable pharmaceutical manufacturing organization known for its expertise in softgel formulation and drug delivery systems.

DURATION: 3–6 months (with possible extension)
LOCATION: SAINT PETERSBURG, FL

Pay: 21-23/hr depending on education and experience


Role Overview – Basic Function

This position contributes to the timely development of pharmaceutical products within a softgel formulation and drug delivery manufacturing environment. The role supports preformulation, formulation, and process development activities, with a strong focus on laboratory execution, equipment operation, batch processing, and GMP-compliant documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper cleaning, maintenance, and operational readiness

  • Keep laboratory areas clean, organized, and compliant with GMP and safety standards

  • Maintain inventory of glassware, chemicals, reagents, raw materials/excipients, consumables, and other materials required for formulation and analytical activities

  • Receive, label, and properly store solvents and analytical reagents

  • Prepare reagents, standards, media, and other solutions required for testing and formulation work

  • Support setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of isolators and laboratory equipment

  • Assist with preparation of solubility and compatibility samples

  • Operate laboratory-scale equipment including mixers, encapsulation machines, coating pans, and related softgel manufacturing systems

  • Prepare laboratory fill mixes and gel swatches

  • Execute drying studies and formulation/process development experiments

  • Perform downstream processing including washing, inspection, and packaging of laboratory batches

  • Conduct physical and analytical testing such as moisture content, water activity, hardness, fill and shell weight, rheology, burst strength, impact/drop testing, and disintegration studies

  • Accurately document all results in approved notebooks, batch records, logbooks, and reports in compliance with GMP standards

  • Clean and maintain laboratory glassware and analytical equipment as needed

  • Support shipment of samples (including animal PK samples and airfills) as required

  • Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation and recordkeeping systems

  • Support onboarding and training of new or existing team members as needed

  • Follow all SOPs, GMP guidelines, and safety procedures at all times

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • May be required to work with highly potent compounds and/or hormones


Education & Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma required; some college coursework in science or related field preferred

  • Prior laboratory or manufacturing-support experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, regulated environment


Skills & Technical Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate and compliant documentation practices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment (e.g., balances) preferred

  • Ability to safely operate laboratory and manufacturing-support equipment


Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced GMP manufacturing environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (and up to 44 lbs with assistance when required)

  • Ability to work across laboratory, office, and manufacturing areas while adhering to gowning and GMP requirements

  • Ability to use standard laboratory and office equipment

  • Visual requirements include reading documentation, frequent computer use, and ability to differentiate color (20/30 vision with or without correction)

  • Ability to work extended hours or off-shifts as required

Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
