We are currently seeking a Tech Consultant - SDET / Test Automation Architect to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia (US-GA), United States (US).

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tech Consultant – SDET / Test Automation Architect to lead enterprise-scale quality engineering and test automation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in designing and scaling UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Java, RestAssured, and BDD, along with strong experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

The role will be responsible for defining QA strategy, automation architecture, release quality governance, and engineering standards while collaborating closely with product owners, architects, developers, and globally distributed QA teams.

Day to Day Job Duties

  • Define and own the QA strategy, automation roadmap, and release quality gates for enterprise applications.
  • Design and develop scalable automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Java, TypeScript, and BDD frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Build API automation solutions using Java, RestAssured, Postman, and Swagger.
  • Integrate automated tests with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and other CI/CD platforms.
  • Establish test automation standards, reusable frameworks, coding guidelines, and code review practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Development teams to define test scope, acceptance criteria, and quality objectives.
  • Lead defect triage, test case reviews, regression planning, and release sign-off activities.
  • Perform database validation using SQL and support end-to-end transaction reconciliation.
  • Lead and mentor onshore/offshore QA teams and ensure timely sprint-level automation delivery.
  • Track automation coverage, test execution, defect trends, and quality metrics using Jira, Zephyr, qTest, ADO, or similar tools.
  • Support performance and high-throughput testing for digital and financial platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA engineering practices, test coverage, and release stability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, SDET, or Test Automation.
  • 7+ years of experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, BDD, and enterprise automation frameworks.
  • 4+ years of experience with API automation using RestAssured, Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, and CI/CD-integrated test automation.

  • Strong experience with database validation and complex SQL queries for financial transaction reconciliation.
  • Experience with Appian-based application automation.
  • Exposure to performance testing and Kafka-based message simulation.
  • Experience establishing enterprise automation frameworks and standards for large QA teams.
  • GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted software development/testing experience.
  • Microsoft Azure or other cloud platform exposure.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role in Atlanta, GA is  $106,000-$145,000.  Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
