Volunteer Script Writing information

What are some typical collaboration practices for volunteer script writers within nonprofit organizations?

Volunteer script writers often work closely with program managers, marketing teams, and other content creators to ensure that scripts align with organizational messaging and campaign goals. Regular check-ins, collaborative editing sessions, and feedback loops are common, whether working remotely or in person. This collaborative approach helps maintain consistency in tone and ensures that scripts effectively convey the intended message. Being open to feedback and adaptable to changing project needs is key to thriving in this volunteer role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Volunteer Script Writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Volunteer Script Writer, you need strong writing abilities, creativity, and a solid understanding of storytelling and script formatting, often supported by relevant coursework or experience. Familiarity with scriptwriting software such as Final Draft or Celtx is typically beneficial. Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration are important soft skills for working with diverse teams and incorporating feedback. These skills ensure compelling, well-structured scripts that meet project goals and engage target audiences.

What are volunteer script writers?

Volunteer script writers are individuals who offer their writing skills and creativity without pay to help organizations, non-profits, or community projects develop scripts for videos, plays, public service announcements, or educational materials. They work closely with teams to understand the message and goals, then craft engaging and clear scripts that effectively communicate those ideas to the target audience. Volunteering in this role allows writers to gain experience, build portfolios, and contribute to causes they care about.

Job description

Description
Overview:
The Senior Investment Content Writer combines investment fluency, editorial judgment, and commercial awareness to turn complex market and portfolio themes into clear, timely content for advisors, institutions, and end investors. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with investment experts, adapting content for digital channels, and using AI tools to improve quality, speed, and reach.
About the investment content team:
The investment content team helps shape how Natixis brings market views, portfolio insights, and the expertise of our affiliate managers to clients. We are building a content model that is faster to produce, easier to tailor, and more useful to the clients receiving it. That means using strong investment judgment, sharper editorial planning, and new tools, including AI, to deliver more relevant content at scale. This role will be an important part of that work.
What you will do:
  • Write clear, investment-led content across asset classes, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, private markets, and multi-asset portfolios, for financial intermediaries, institutional investors, and end clients.
  • Develop timely content on macroeconomic trends, asset allocation, manager views, portfolio construction, and investment implementation.
  • Partner with investment, portfolio consulting, product, and distribution teams to turn market views, portfolio insights, and product positioning into content clients can use.
  • Bring a clear editorial point of view to cross-functional planning, helping connect business priorities, client needs, and investment themes into stronger content ideas.
  • Create and adapt content across articles, presentations, web pages, emails, social posts, video scripts, podcasts, and infographics, with versions tailored to distinct client segments and distribution channels.
  • Use AI tools to improve research, drafting, editing, versioning, and workflow efficiency, while maintaining strong editorial judgment.
  • Optimize content for customer engagement and digital discovery, including search engine optimization, answer engine optimization, social distribution, and content marketing best practices.

What you will bring:
  • 7-10 years of investment writing experience within the asset management industry, with a strong understanding of the information needs of financial advisors, intermediaries, and institutional investors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear, compelling investment content across a range of asset classes, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, private markets, and multi-asset solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment vehicles, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible and engaging messaging.
  • Experience partnering with investment teams, product specialists, and distribution teams to develop thought leadership, market commentary, sales enablement materials, and client-facing content.
  • Exceptional written, editorial, and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to tailor content for diverse audiences while maintaining investment accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Digitally savvy, with a strong understanding of content distribution channels, including social media, search, SEO, AI-enhanced search (AEO), and broader content marketing strategies.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and workflows to enhance content development, research, repurposing, editorial review, and productivity while maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • CFA charter holder, CFA candidate, CAIA designation, Series 7, or other relevant investment credential preferred.
  • Writing and content samples required as part of the interview process.

Who we are:
