Job description

Pharma Technical Manufacturing (PTM) is responsible for managing all aspects of end-to-end drug substance and drug product manufacturing and supply. From the raw material to the final medicine, we contribute to delivering Roche’s ground-breaking therapies to more than 120 million patients around the world. We make our medicines at nine sites across the globe and coordinate all aspects of production of Roche medicines in all disease areas and dosage forms.

The new site, located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, will focus on large-volume, low-cost drug product manufacturing, including component preparation and compounding, liquid pouch fill system (PFS) filling, automated inspection, autoinjector assembly, and packaging of finished products.

Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team. In this role, you will maintain material supply to meet production demand, bridging the gap between global procurement and production planning, and coordinating artwork changes for packaging materials.

What You’ll DoStart Up Phase
  • Manage the material plan to support vendor and site testing of packaging and assembly materials during Factory and Site Acceptance Testing through qualification, coordinating with multiple vendors, European Roche sites, and procurement.
  • Serve as a Materials Management SME for SAP ERP setup and deployment, responsible for the timeline, deliverables, and adherence to global template processes related to MRP, material planning, and procurement.
Post Start‑Up
  • Work with Global Procurement to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
  • Ensure MRP can be met and manage long‑lead‑time materials.
  • Develop plans to avoid material shortages.
  • Optimize inventory to minimize expiration and make effective use of storage space.
  • Act as the artwork change coordinator and collaborate with the global artwork change team to ensure correct packaging artwork is available on time.
  • Partner with procurement to ensure voluntary availability of raw materials and components needed for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production schedulers to adjust the Master Production Schedule as needed, preventing stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Utilize SAP S/4HANA and OMP for planning and execution, generating reports, analyzing data, and making data‑driven decisions.
  • Apply Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) principles and best practices across all material planning activities.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field with at least five years of experience as a material planner or in a similar supply‑chain‑planning role.
  • Proven experience with ERP planning processes and software, such as SAP S/4HANA and OMP.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing complex data and making data‑driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Certification in CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA).
  • Experience with the implementation of large‑scale ERP projects.

The expected salary range for this position at the Holly Springs, North Carolina location is $89,300–$165,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
