Job description

Status: Part-Time Hourly
FLSA classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position: Community-Based Child and Family Counselor (QMHP-C) is responsible for providing direct clinical services to youth and their families in home, school, and community settings. This role focuses on delivering individualized, strength-based interventions using a comprehensive wraparound approach that actively engages both youth and their caregivers.
  • Initiate, organize, plan, and implement individualized clinical interventions for assigned youth and families.
  • Develop and deliver service plans using a strength-based, wraparound model that engages caregivers and support systems
  • Provide services in community-based settings, including homes, schools, and other natural environments.
  • Collaborate with families, stakeholders, and service providers to support treatment goals.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Support youth and families in building skills and accessing resources across educational, social, and behavioral domains.

Services are delivered in the community - this is not an office-based role.
Flexible scheduling with hours that may include evenings and weekends, depending on participant needs.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field (required)
  • Must meet Virginia QMHP-C criteria, including:
    • At least 1 year of clinical experience working with children/adolescents, or
    • Equivalent combination of education and supervised experience as defined by DBHDS
  • Active QMHP-C registration or eligibility in Virginia required
  • Experience providing services to children and families in a clinical or community-based setting preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and engagement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred
  • Bilingual (e.g., Spanish speaking) skills a plus
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required
