Overview
The YMCA is seeking a School Age Associate Program Director. This position requires someone who has energy, a positive mind set and strong leadership skills to supervise, teach, nurture and encourage our staff and kiddos with a balance of empathy, accountability, role modeling and hands-on work.

This is a year-round, full-time role, working Monday-Friday hours varying from 6:45am-6:00pm and the position continues through summer as full-time day camp site director.
Positions continue 40 hours a week through summer, at one of our 15+ Day Camp Locations. We will work with you to determine the best fit for summer camp.

Responsibilities
  • Works with Program Directors to manage, direct and coordinate program areas, ensure high quality programs and establish new program activities.
  • Directs a before school site 3-4 mornings per week and an after-school site 5 afternoons each week.
  • Trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed.
  • Informs Program Director of needed upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports safety practices aligning with YMCA, Health Department and CDHS standards.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with school administration. Checks in weekly with office staff to communicate any updates or concerns.
  • With support of Program Director, provides staff leadership for annual fund-raising campaign. Represents the YMCA and participates in association special events.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 21 years or older.
  • Supply documentation of current certification or become certified in CPR and First Aid. We can assist with this.
  • AND have at least one of the following
    • A four-year degree in a related field OR
    • An associate's degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university and three (3) months (455 hours) of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) years who are not related to the individual OR
    • 3,185 hours of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) years who are not related to the individual OR
    • A current early childhood professional credential level 2 or higher.

Posted Salary Range
USD $20.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
