So when life happens, we're here for our neighbors that need us.The Job SummaryThe Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for a Volunteer Operations Specialist to assist our volunteers in learning and performing food recovery and packing tasks, while providing a quality experience that encourages people to want to come back and volunteer at MOFC.The ResponsibilitiesTrains volunteers on how to inspect and package products based on various project objectives.Supports volunteers throughout the duration of work shifts by moving product, dismissing for break, answering questions.Follows SOPs, safety policies, and inventory control guidelines to ensure safe and accurate outcomes.Sets up volunteer projects according to the Tentative Project Schedule.Maintains clean and organized workspaces.Cross-trains and assists in Volunteer Check-In.Unloads product and supplies as needed.Maintains supply inventory for daily project use.Helps create a volunteer-friendly environment.Participates in volunteer recognition and appreciation activities.The RequirementsEducation and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Food Safety certified or must be willing/able to receive such certification from MOFC. Certification to operate an electric pallet jack, stand-up and sit-down forklift or must be willing/able to become certified on such equipment during the first 90 days of employment.Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a distribution center. Working knowledge of reclamation principles and procedures. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.Skills/Competencies: Good verbal & written communication skills. Good time management and prioritization skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment. Ability to interact and instruct diverse audiences.
