Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technology professional to provide technical leadership for large-scale, regulatory applications within the financial services industry. The successful candidate will drive application development, modernization, automation, and operational excellence while partnering closely with architects, product managers, and senior technology leaders.

This role requires strong hands-on development expertise across Java technologies, cloud platforms, databases, web services, and modern UI frameworks, combined with a passion for delivering business value through technology innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technology leadership across multiple large-scale business applications in partnership with senior architects and product managers.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise-grade applications and services.
  • Continuously improve application development, support, and operational processes.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Drive application modernization and adoption of best practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure application development initiatives are effectively managed and delivered on expectations for functionality, quality, timeliness, and cost.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient daily operating capabilities.
  • Promote Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices where appropriate.
  • Meet or exceed customer commitments while fostering a strong service-oriented culture.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience in a large-scale, high-performance application development environment within the financial services industry.

OR

  • Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on software development experience in a large-scale, high-performance application development environment within the financial services industry.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE application development.
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms, Apache Tomcat, and/or Red Hat Linux environments.
  • Strong experience developing and integrating Web Services (REST/SOAP) and JMS-based messaging solutions.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL, stored procedures, and/or Oracle Exadata.
  • Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks such as React JS and/or Google Web Toolkit (GWT).
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise applications in distributed environments.

Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and application support processes.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
