Job Summary

VSolvit has an immediate opening for a Data Analyst I to support the Data and Analytics team at Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division in Norco, California.

The Data Analyst I will support data collection, data preparation, reporting, and visualization activities. This position will assist with transforming operational and business data into clear reports, dashboards, and analytical findings that support decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have foundational experience with data visualization, data cleaning, Python, SQL, and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI. This position is well suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking to develop practical data-analysis experience in a Department of Defense environment.

As with any position, additional expectations include adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies, communicating regularly with assigned supervisors, attending required meetings, remaining focused on assigned tasks, and completing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, clean, organize, and validate data from multiple sources.

  • Assist with analyzing datasets to identify trends, patterns, and data-quality issues.

  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Tableau or Power BI.

  • Perform quality checks to help ensure data accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist with recurring data-processing and reporting activities.

  • Prepare charts, summaries, and presentation materials for stakeholders.

  • Work with team members to understand reporting and data-analysis requirements.

  • Document data sources, calculations, and reporting procedures.

  • Provide support and training to users on approved data tools and reports.

  • Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and other technical personnel.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field. Internships and relevant academic experience may be considered.

  • Foundational knowledge of data visualization and data preparation.

  • Experience or coursework using Python for data analysis or scripting.

  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or a similar visualization tool.

  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with guidance and as part of a team.

  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
