Job description

TEKsystems is partnering with a rapidly growing IT consulting company in Northeast Wisconsin to hire two IT Support Specialists (Tier I & Tier II) on a contract-to-hire basis. These roles are perfect for candidates who enjoy a mix of help desk troubleshooting and hands-on field work, offering more variety than a traditional desk-only support position.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base across multiple industries, requiring strong technical skills, adaptability, and a customer-first mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Help Desk Support (60–70%)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for client IT issues via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Tier I/II issues, including:
    • Active Directory password resets and user management
    • Microsoft 365 (O365) administration
    • Printer, connectivity, and network access issues
    • Workstation and operating system errors (Windows environments)
  • Set up and configure new users, laptops, and desktops
  • Document all work performed in PSA/ticketing systems
  • Escalate more complex issues while maintaining strong client ownership and communication

Field & Installation Work (30–40%)

  • Travel to client sites within approximately a 60-mile radius
  • Install and configure IT infrastructure, including:
    • Servers, switches, and firewalls (“rack & stack”)
    • TVs, monitors, cameras, and network equipment
  • Run and terminate Cat6 cabling through ceilings and walls
  • Use power tools (drills, drivers, etc.) for installations
  • Assist with office moves, equipment setup, and cable management

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience in an MSP environment is highly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and basic networking
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows OS
  • Comfortable with hands-on technical work and using tools in the field
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manitowoc, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
