 Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Environmental Permitting and Compliance Project Manager, Scientist or Engineer - Air Quality to join its collaborative team in any of our Langan locations. Our Air Quality Permitting and Dispersion Modeling specialist will lead and execute air quality projects for a wide range of clients throughout the US. Specific responsibilities will include preparation of emissions calculations, compliance reports, permit applications, and dispersion modeling using various programs (AERMOD, MOVES, etc.).  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review air permit applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead air permitting efforts for the life-cycle of a project from initial due diligence, through preparation of applications, strategic compliance support throughout construction and ongoing operational compliance
  • Air quality dispersion modeling development, execution, and analysis;
  • Have an understanding of and implement solutions to air quality impacts identified in air modeling analyses. This may include refining the model or working with clients to identify emission controls, operating modifications, or exhaust modifications;
  • Perform air quality modeling analyses using common air quality models (e.g., AERMOD, MOVES, CALPUFF, etc.) to evaluate air quality impacts as required for Title V, PSD, New Source Review compliance, and Environmental Impact Statements, as well as to support growing environmental concerns from the public associated with development projects;
  • Prepare and communicate technical work products clearly and effectively to clients and state and federal agencies at both a technical and business level;
  • Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables;
  • Manage project budgets and assist in invoicing as project or task manager;
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments;
  • Lead and/or assist in the preparation of proposals including development of scope and costs;
  • Act as a liaison between internal multidisciplinary stakeholders; and
  • Work as part of a cross-functional engineering team to support projects located throughout the US.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Meteorology, or closely related field. Master's degree preferred;
  • 6+ years of experience working with air permitting and multimedia compliance projects in a consulting environment;
  • PE or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) or other relevant professional certification (e.g. CHMM) is strongly preferred;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects;
  • Ability to work well on multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Willingness and ability to maintain and develop existing client relationships as well as identify new opportunities is strongly desired;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
  • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing
