Job description

Location: Hybrid Philadelphia, PA (2 days on site required)

Our client is seeking a hands-on Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models. This is a highly technical role focused on building and improving scoring models, decision-support systems, and machine learning solutions that drive business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an experienced machine learning practitioner who enjoys working directly with data, feature engineering, model development, validation, production scoring, and continuous model improvement. • Strong hands-on expertise with Python and SQL.

  • Experience building and deploying predictive models into production environments.

  • Deep understanding of feature engineering, model training, validation techniques, model calibration, threshold optimization, and performance monitoring.

  • Experience developing decision-support systems, predictive scoring models, scorecards, or recommendation/prioritization solutions.

  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and modern machine learning frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of model deployment, production workflows, and MLOps concepts.

  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
