Saalexย is seeking anย Engineering Technician VI -Model Maker in China Lake, CA.ย Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Salary:ย $29.95-47.50 hourly (Depending upon experience)

Work Location:ย Fully onsite.

Job Summary:

The Model Maker Incumbent will be responsible for performing high-precision machining tasks within the Model Shop Branch of the AMTD. This role is essential for manufacturing machined hardware used in a variety of projects at NAWCWD China Lake. The successful candidate will be a skilled machinist with experience in both manual and CNC machining, capable of producing complex components to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate lathes, mills, and other machine shop machines to fabricate components.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum ofย 5-7 yearsย of relevant machining experience.
  • Proficiency in operating lathes, mills, and various machining equipment.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Must have problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Certifications: Relevant certifications are aย plusย and will be considered valuable.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Active Secret Clearance preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.ย
