Job description

Position Summary:

The School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at Avila University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors teach fully in person and/or hybrid-flex formatted computer science courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Lecture courses for computer science that would include C# programming language.
  • Lecture courses for cybersecurity that would include basic introductory concepts and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
  • Deliver content using effectual methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience.
  • Perform other duties as needed related to assigned courses.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in specific discipline relevant to teaching responsibilities or a Master’s degree in another area with 18 credit hours of discipline graduate coursework from an accredited university/college.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Teaching experience with a diverse population (preferred).
  • Experience with online learning, especially with a Learning Management System such as Canvas (preferred).
  • Multilingual skills highly preferred.
