Why join Vegas Fastener Manufacturing?

Vegas Fastener Manufacturing produces specialty fasteners and precision-machined components for demanding applications where quality, consistency and material performance matter.

This is a hands-on CNC setup and programming position—not a machine operator role. You’ll be responsible for developing programs, setting up CNC mills and lathes, troubleshooting machining issues and helping improve how components are produced. It is a strong opportunity for an experienced machinist who understands the complete process, from reading the drawing and selecting tooling through setup, production and final inspection.

Vegas Fastener supports customers across aerospace, defense, power generation, oil and gas, chemical processing and other industries requiring dependable components manufactured from challenging materials.

Both day and night positions are available, with a four-day Monday-through-Thursday schedule that leaves every weekend open.

⚙️ What you’ll be doing

  • Program, set up and operate CNC lathes and mills
  • Manufacture precision fastener components from engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Develop, edit and optimize CNC programs
  • Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures and work offsets
  • Read and work with G-code and M-code
  • Troubleshoot programs, tooling and machining processes
  • Complete in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges and fixtures
  • Monitor part dimensions and make the adjustments needed to maintain quality
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, tooling performance and production efficiency
  • Follow established safety, quality and production procedures

️ Machines, controls & software

Machines: CNC Lathes • CNC Mills
Controls: Mazak • Okuma
CAM Software: SurfCAM • SolidCAM • Mastercam • GibbsCAM • PartMaker
Programming: G-Code • M-Code
Inspection Equipment: Micrometers • Calipers • Gauges • Inspection Fixtures

Experience with at least one of the listed CAM platforms is required. Candidates do not need experience with every software package listed.

⭐ Shop highlights

  • Four-day workweek
  • Monday-through-Thursday schedule
  • Three-day weekends
  • Day and night shifts available
  • Hands-on CNC programming and setup responsibilities
  • Precision fastener manufacturing
  • CNC mill and lathe work
  • Components for demanding industrial applications
  • Opportunities to improve tooling and machining processes
  • Established Las Vegas manufacturing operation

Materials you may work with

Vegas Fastener manufactures components from high-temperature, corrosion-resistant and specialty materials used in demanding applications. Exact materials will vary by component and customer specification.

✅ What we’re looking for

Required:

  • 3+ years of CNC programming, setup and machining experience
  • Experience programming with SurfCAM, SolidCAM, Mastercam, GibbsCAM or PartMaker
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines
  • Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and machining specifications
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, fixtures and gauges
  • Strong tooling and machining-process knowledge
  • Ability to accurately interpret machine instrumentation and inspection results
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Preferred:

  • Experience with both CNC lathes and CNC mills
  • Mazak or Okuma experience
  • Background machining precision fasteners or similar close-tolerance components
  • Experience improving programs, tooling performance or machining processes

Why you’ll like working here

This role gives experienced CNC machinists meaningful control over the manufacturing process. You’ll program equipment, complete setups, solve machining problems and contribute to process improvements—not simply load parts and press cycle start.

The four-day schedule provides consistent hours and three-day weekends, while the variety of CAM platforms, CNC equipment and demanding components offers opportunities to continue developing your programming and setup skills.

Pay, benefits & schedule

Pay: Competitive compensation based on experience

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
