Job Summary:
Vantor is forging the new frontier of spatial intelligence, helping decision makers and operators navigate what’s happening now and shape what’s coming next. The role involves supporting the gathering of project requirements and implementing data-driven solutions as a Geospatial Data Scientist.
Responsibilities:
• Use Python scripting and AWS services to automate geospatial data ingestion, transformation, and analysis
• Apply geospatial data science techniques to identify patterns, trends, and mission-relevant insights
• Create maps, visualizations, and analytic products for technical and non-technical audiences
• Maintain high-quality, repeatable data workflows, ensuring data integrity, documentation, and performance
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
• Strong experience using Python for geospatial data transformation, automation, and analysis
• Strong experience working with geospatial data in thick-client GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, AWS services, and Linux-based environments
• U.S. citizenship and Active TS/SCI with required polygraph
• Willingness to work on-site full time
Preferred:
• Experience working with Python notebooks (e.g., Jupyter) for exploratory and reproducible analysis
• Experience integrating and consuming data via REST APIs
• Experience with R, Tableau, or similar analytical and visualization tools
• Experience with Apache NiFi or comparable data workflow/orchestration tools
• Familiarity with Git for versioning scripts and analytic artifacts
