Job description

Are we the road to your future?

We are currently searching for experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors to support our Southeast Region located in the state of Florida.


To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Making and checking engineering computations
  • Inspecting construction work
  • Conducting field tests
  • Writes daily inspection reports, performs verification testing, and documents test results and observations
  • Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed
  • Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator

What you need to have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
    OR
  • An Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering Degree
  • The qualified candidate should possess or have the ability to earn following required qualifications and certifications within one year (qualifications/certifications are provided by Volkert)
    • FDOT certifications
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
