Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Rochester, NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency, trauma, neurological, cardiac, and critical care conditions. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, triage, emergency interventions, patient stabilization, and ongoing monitoring in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively manage high-acuity patients.
Required Qualifications
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
  • Current AHA ACLS Certification required.
  • Current NIHSS Certification required.
  • Recent Emergency Department experience required.
  • EPIC EMR experience required.
  • Experience with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, and IV vasopressors.
  • Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
  • Trauma, stroke, and emergency care experience required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care for patients of varying acuity levels.
  • Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and emergency treatments.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Provide care for trauma, neurological, orthopedic, and medical emergency patients.
  • Manage ventilated patients and respiratory support therapies.
  • Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and central line care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EPIC.
  • Follow infection control, isolation, and patient safety protocols.
  • Float within skillset as required to support patient care needs.
